Image
ISO 9001:2015, Section 7.3 is on Awareness and requires organizations to ensure that all persons doing work under the organization's control are aware of:
  • The quality policy
  • The quality objectives
  • The relevant documented procedures
  • Their roles and responsibilities in achieving quality objectives
  • The implications of nonconformity with the quality management system requirements
The organization can achieve awareness by a variety of means, such as:
  • Training
  • Job instructions
  • Meetings
  • Communication
The organization should also keep records of the awareness activities that have been carried out.
Section 7.3 is an important part of the ISO 9001 because it ensures that all employees understand the organization's quality requirements and their roles and responsibilities in meeting those requirements. This can help to improve the quality of the organization's products and services, and can also help to reduce the risk of non-conformance.
Here are some additional tips to help you implement section 7.3 of ISO 9001:
  • Make sure that the quality policy and objectives are communicated to all employees.
  • Provide training to all employees on the quality management system.
  • Develop job instructions that are specific to each employee's role.
  • Hold regular meetings to discuss quality issues.
  • Encourage employees to communicate with each other about quality issues.
  • Keep records of the awareness activities that have been carried out.
