AS9100D Records Retention
The AS9100D standard does not specify a specific retention period for records, but does require that organizations retain records for a period of time that is sufficient to demonstrate the organization's ability to meet customer and applicable regulatory requirements. The retention period should be determined by the organization based on a number of factors, including the nature of the record, the purpose for which it is being retained, and customer flow down or regulatory requirements that apply.

The quality policy and objectives
The scope of the QMS
A description of the QMS processes and their application, sequence, interaction, and assigned responsibilities and authorities
The quality planning
The results of audits and reviews
Any nonconformities and corrective and preventive actions
The training records
The records of monitoring and measuring activities
Any other records that the organization determines are necessary to demonstrate the effectiveness of the QMS
7.5.3.2 Control of records
The organization must establish and maintain a process for controlling records. The process must include the following:
Identification of the records that need to be controlled
The method of recording and storing the records
The methods of protecting the records from loss, damage, or unauthorized access
The retention and disposal of records
The organization must also establish and maintain a process for ensuring that records are legible, readily identifiable, and retrievable.
